About me
I have spent over two decades at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and kids' media, making my experience pretty hard to categorize. I’ve been an executive producer of award-winning original content and an editor of bestselling books. I’ve shaped creative vision at the highest levels and rolled up my sleeves on individual projects. I know publishing, entertainment, and audio inside out because I’ve worked in all three.
As founder and head of original children's content at Audible for the U.S. market, I defined what kids' audio could be, developing original works that captivated audiences from toddlers to teens. My portfolio spans original audiobooks, scripted series, musicals, and episodic shows created alongside international brands, bestselling authors, and Grammy Award–winning artists earning accolades and awards, including Webbys, Kidscreen Awards, Signal Awards, Rockies, and many more.
Prior to Audible, I was a literary agent at Pippin Properties, representing creators across picture books, middle grade, YA, and graphic novels. Before that, I spent many years on the editorial team at Dial Books for Young Readers at Penguin Random House, working with award-winning and New York Times bestselling talent. I have had prominent seats at lots of tables, and my perspective is rare.
I am also a sought-after speaker and have taken the stage at Bologna Book Plus, SCBWI, Podcast Movement, Kidscreen Summit, and the Children's Media Association, among others. I hold a B.A. in English from The George Washington University and an M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education (May 2026).
At Heather Alexander Creative Consulting, I am all about building strong relationships and providing personalized solutions. I’m here to partner with you every step of the way, ensuring that your journey is as smooth and successful as possible.
